If you are choosing an AI visibility tool, start with the buyer questions, provider coverage and follow-up work your team needs to handle. OppAlerts publishes this page and sells one of the products on it, so treat the descriptions as a starting point and check each vendor's own pricing page before buying. Every fact below comes from those pages, read on September 5, 2026.
The products in this category do not measure the same thing, and they do not charge for the same thing. Deciding on the criteria first is what makes the shortlist short.
Decide these five things before looking at any product
- Which engines must appear in your report. This eliminates more products than any other requirement. Perplexity and Claude in particular are absent from several tools, including OppAlerts.
- How often the prompts must run. Hourly, daily, weekly and monthly are all sold, and frequency is usually what determines the bill rather than the prompt count.
- How many prompts you need. Fifteen well-chosen prompts checked weekly is a legitimate program; so is four hundred checked daily. They lead to different products.
- Whether people are charged. Some vendors include unlimited users; others charge per seat or cap licenses. For a team of six this can outweigh every other difference.
- Whether you need the tool to act, not only measure. Content generation, site auditing, crawler log analysis and prospecting are all sold in this category by different products.
Convert every quote into one unit before comparing
Vendors meter prompts per day, prompts per plan, credits, checks and calls. Those are not comparable as printed.
Ahrefs publishes the clearest unit, and it works well as a common denominator: tracking one prompt, on one platform, in one location uses one check. Its packages are $50 a month for 2,500 checks, $100 for 7,000 and $250 for 25,000, with overage at $0.020, $0.015 and $0.010 a check.
Convert your own workload the same way. One hundred prompts, across three engines, five days a week, is 1,500 collections a week or about 6,500 a month. Now ask each vendor what that costs on their meter. A plan advertising "100 prompts" may mean 100 prompts on one engine, refreshed weekly, which is a twentieth of that workload.
The products, sorted by the job they suit
Widest engine coverage: Profound, Scrunch, Brand24
Profound names ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Copilot, Grok and DeepSeek, with up to nine engines at Enterprise. Its self-serve plans are narrow: Starter at $99 a month billed yearly tracks 50 prompts on ChatGPT alone with one seat. Growth at $399 tracks 100 prompts across three engines with three seats. API access is Enterprise only.
Scrunch Core costs $250 a month and covers four engines: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. It includes 125 unique prompts, one brand workspace, five user licenses, three personas and five competitors. Enterprise covers nine engines.
Brand24 includes AI answer tracking in its brand monitoring product. Its LLM Listening module states nine models: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, DeepSeek, Grok, Copilot and Claude. Plans run $249 to $699 a month, metered on keywords and monthly mentions, with unlimited users above the entry plan.
Best value on engines at a low price: Otterly.AI
Otterly lists the same four engines on every self-serve plan, so engine count is not a plan boundary. Plans are $29, $189 and $489 a month for 15, 100 and 400 search prompts, with extra blocks of 100 at $99. Its enterprise line from $1,000 a month publishes API request, MCP request and Agent Analytics event allowances, which most vendors do not.
Finest control over frequency: Rankscale
Rankscale schedules from hourly to monthly on every plan and publishes its arithmetic: 50 prompts at 0.75 credits a run, weekly, is 162.5 credits a month. Plans are shown at $20, $99, $385 and $780 a month, unused credits roll over up to a stated multiple, and seats are unlimited.
Deepest prompt analytics: Peec AI
Peec states its meter plainly: tracked prompts multiplied by active models multiplied by tracking frequency. Plans cover 50, 150 and 350 prompts with three chosen models at daily frequency, reaching up to twelve models at Enterprise, and extra models can be added without changing plan. Team users are unlimited.
Its reporting goes further than most: prompt volume scored 1 to 5, prompts classified as branded or non-branded and by intent, brand attribute scoring and source gap analysis. Its ads library names advertisers appearing in sponsored answer placements.
Already paying for an SEO platform: Ahrefs, Semrush, Surfer
Ahrefs Brand Radar starts from $199 a month on top of a plan and offers an AI Visibility Index requiring no setup, alongside custom prompts sold in check packages. Its plans include only 5, 10 or 20 tracked AI prompts, so budget for Brand Radar separately. API and MCP access come on every plan.
Semrush tracks 50, 100 and 200 prompts daily from its $199 Starter plan up, alongside keyword rank tracking and site auditing, with MCP access from Starter. Its AI engine list could not be read from its own pages, so it is not stated here. Ask Semrush which engines it covers before shortlisting it.
Surfer sells AI Search Analytics at $158 a month billed yearly for 100 AI prompts refreshed daily, with Mention Gap, Brand Sentiments and MCP. It covers ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews and other models.
Tracking as one part of a research campaign: OppAlerts
OppAlerts has the shortest engine list here. It tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode for prompts, and Google and Bing for keywords. One Google request returns the organic results, the ads and the AI Overview together. Perplexity and Claude are not available, and its API and MCP server are available for read-only access.
Its allowance is counted in calls, one per tracked item per provider per day, with the days you want fresh data ticked per item. It is not sold by the seat.
What it adds beyond measurement is the research usually bought through separate subscriptions, driven by one campaign definition covering the business, its brands, its competitors and three buyer personas:
- A prospect index searched by meaning across opportunity types including guest contribution pages, resource lists, expert roundups, podcasts and directories.
- Stored public contact details for those sites.
- A news, blog and podcast index.
- A backlink database with a link gap report.
- Monthly PageRank history.
- A content optimizer comparing a draft with categories selected from a taxonomy.

Nothing here is ranked, because the products answer different questions. Work through the five criteria, convert the quotes into one unit, and the list usually reduces to two.
Use those requirements to test a representative tracking workload and report. Compare the full cost of supporting that work before choosing a product.
