Brandwatch Alternatives for Consumer and Social Intelligence

Compare Brandwatch alternatives for consumer research, social publishing and PR. Identify which products cover the part of your communications work you need to replace.

If you are replacing part of your Brandwatch setup, first identify whether your team needs research, publishing or influencer management. Brandwatch sells three things: Consumer Intelligence for researchers and analysts, Social Media Management for teams that publish and reply, and Influencer Marketing. Few competitors sell all three, so the first question is which line you are replacing.

OppAlerts publishes this page and is one of the alternatives on it. It does not replace Brandwatch, and the section on it says so first.

It publishes no prices, and neither do the two closest alternatives, so this page compares scope and explains what to ask for in a quote.

Talkwalker, the closest equivalent for consumer intelligence

Talkwalker is the nearest match for the research half of Brandwatch. Its pricing page states 150 million data sources, more than 30 social platforms, 187 languages and 196 countries, with unlimited users on every Lumen plan. Those figures are Talkwalker's own and are not directly comparable with another vendor's counts.

Talkwalker offers comparable scope for researchers and analysts studying conversations across markets. It does not replace Brandwatch's publishing tools.

Meltwater, when media intelligence and PR sit alongside social

Meltwater offers Starter, Pro, Enterprise and Agency tiers with tailored pricing. Its FAQ lists the factors that determine a quote: modules, source and regional coverage, data and workflow volume, users, integrations, onboarding, support and contract terms.

It suits an organization whose brand work spans media monitoring, journalist research and distribution as well as social listening. The Agency tier exists because agencies buy it as a program.

Brand24 or Mention, when you need fewer features

Both are smaller purchases with published or near-published pricing, and both are a downsize from Brandwatch rather than an equivalent.

Brand24 runs $249 to $699 a month for 3 to 25 keywords at 2,000 to 100,000 mentions a month. Users are unlimited from its second plan. Its LLM Listening module states nine AI models, the broadest AI answer coverage among the monitoring vendors here. It also provides MCP and API integration, sentiment in all languages, Demographics, Anomaly Detection and Context Search.

Mention sells alerts and the mentions they return, with Boolean search and social and review monitoring. Check one thing first: its FAQ states that Publish and Respond have been progressively deprecated, with that work directed to Agorapulse. If you are leaving Brandwatch partly for its publishing tools, Mention is not where they are.

BuzzSumo, when the output is coverage and journalists

BuzzSumo runs $199, $299 and $499 a month with 1 and 5 users and 2 and 5 alerts, and unlimited searches shared across the account. Its PR & Comms tier adds a Media Database for finding journalists writing about your brand, market and competitors, and Coverage Reports. Those reports include publication data, engagement, mention count, placement within the article and excerpts.

Content Analyzer finds engaging content by topic or domain. Trending Feeds covers the last 24 hours. Question Analyzer finds customer questions in forum posts, including Amazon, Reddit and Quora.

OppAlerts, the adjacent job rather than a replacement

OppAlerts replaces none of Brandwatch's three lines, and it is listed here only because teams often discover that what they wanted from a listening platform was link and outreach work.

It does not read social platforms, does not publish or reply, has no influencer measurement, no sentiment scoring and no journalist database. It monitors published pages through a News Index of indexed news, blog and podcast content and a Prospect Index of stored web pages.

OppAlerts supports link research and outreach with:

  • Pages naming your brand without a link.
  • The stored public contact details for those sites.
  • A prospect index searched by meaning across opportunity types including guest contributions, resource lists, roundups, podcasts and directories.
  • A link gap report against competitors.
  • Monthly PageRank history.
  • A content optimizer that compares a draft with categories you select, and tracking of ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode alongside Google and Bing positions.

One campaign definition provides context for all of it.

Three vendors on this page quote rather than publish. Give each the same brief: the same source coverage, the same regions and languages, the same expected volume, and the same number of users. How source coverage changes a monitoring tool explains which inputs affect a quote.

Evaluate a replacement against the work of the team that will use it. Confirm the required sources and actions before removing a service from that workflow.

An industry report, a custom dataset, a partnership; a couple of sentences is plenty. Every message comes straight to me, and I read all of them.

If it’s a fit, you’ll hear back quickly with next steps or a time to talk.
