Are Website Contact Details Always Available in OppAlerts?

Contact details are not available for every site in OppAlerts. Learn what a missing record means and how to check a publisher's current contact route before outreach.

No. Some sites return several contact routes, some return one, and some return none. If you are preparing outreach, plan to check the site's own instructions when a record is incomplete.

Site Info searches records for around 40 million sites and returns the contact information a website publishes about itself, as stored when the site was collected: contact pages, email addresses, phone numbers and social profiles.

What an absence means

No contact route was found on that site when it was collected. It does not establish that none exists.

Common causes are a form-only contact page with no address in the markup, details rendered by script, contact information published as an image, and a site that has changed since collection.

When a prospect matters and its record is thin, open the site. A missing record is a reason to look rather than a reason to discard a good fit.

Three things these details are not

Not verified for deliverability. An address appears because it was published. Nothing tests whether it still accepts mail. If your outreach fails because emails bounce, an email verification service solves that and this does not.

Not a journalist database. No reporter profiles, beats or publication rosters. Pitching a named writer at a title needs a media database.

Not a person-level record. What a site publishes is usually a role or a route: an editorial address, a submissions form, a general line. That is frequently what you need, and it is not an individual's address.

Follow the site's published contact instructions

Sites that accept contributions, listings or corrections usually state how they want to be approached. Following the stated route reaches whoever handles it and shows you read the page.

Reaching past a stated process to an individual can be slower, and on a site with clear instructions it reads as having ignored them.

So read what the site publishes first, and look for a named person only when there is no route or the placement justifies the effort.

Confirm before sending

Stored data describes a site as it was collected. Websites change contact arrangements often, and staff change more often than that.

No fixed refresh interval or separate correction channel is promised. Confirm stored contact details on the current site before using them.

Check contact availability after qualifying the site. You can then decide whether there is an appropriate route for your request before writing it.

Let’s discuss how we can work together.

An industry report, a custom dataset, a partnership; a couple of sentences is plenty. Every message comes straight to me, and I read all of them.

If it’s a fit, you’ll hear back quickly with next steps or a time to talk.
