OppAlerts and Otterly.AI Compared

Compare Otterly.AI and OppAlerts by prompt capacity and provider coverage. Check AI Overview collection, organic keyword tracking and the tools for publication research.

If you choose an AI visibility tool, you need the right provider coverage for your buyer questions and a way to use the resulting answers. Every Otterly.AI self-serve plan tracks the same four engines. Higher plans increase the prompt allowance. OppAlerts tracks three AI providers plus two search engines, and puts most of its scope into research beyond the answer itself.

OppAlerts publishes this comparison. Otterly covers four engines on every plan and publishes API and MCP allowances; OppAlerts does neither.

The engine and prompt arrangement

Otterly tracks ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, and lists all four on Lite, Standard and Pro. The plans differ by search prompt allowance: 15, 100 and 400, at $29, $189 and $489 a month. Standard and Pro can add 100 extra search prompts for $99. ChatGPT Ads Tracking appears on every plan.

OppAlerts sends a tracked prompt to ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode, and a tracked keyword to Google and Bing. Perplexity and Copilot are not tracked, and Otterly is the better choice if either belongs in your report.

The Google side is where the coverage differs the other way. One Google keyword request in OppAlerts returns the organic results, the ads and the AI Overview together. An AI Overview citation appears beside the conventional position for the same keyword in the same run. Otterly tracks Google AI Overviews as a prompt engine, and nothing on its pricing page describes conventional organic keyword rank tracking on Google or Bing.

The meters also differ. Otterly counts search prompts. OppAlerts counts calls: one tracked item, on one provider, on one day, with the days you want fresh data ticked per item. A hundred prompts on three providers, twice a week, is 600 calls. The same hundred prompts fill the Otterly Standard allowance, whatever frequency it runs at.

Where Otterly is the stronger product

  • Published API and MCP allowances. Its enterprise line starts at $1,000 a month and states monthly limits for API requests and MCP requests, at 2,000 and 5,000 on the named tiers. The OppAlerts API and MCP server are available for read-only access, and the pages describing them say so.
  • Agent Analytics events, metered at 200k and 1M a month. OppAlerts does not collect crawler or agent activity for your site.
  • GEO audits and GEO URL audits, at 1,000 audits and 5,000 or 10,000 URL audits a month. OppAlerts does not audit URLs.
  • Four engines on the smallest plan. A team that needs Perplexity and Copilot alongside ChatGPT gets them at the entry price, which several competing products place behind a higher tier.

For a small team whose only requirement is prompt tracking across four engines, Otterly Lite is a narrower and cheaper product than anything OppAlerts sells. This page does not argue otherwise.

Where OppAlerts covers work Otterly does not

Nothing on the Otterly pages read describes a backlink index, link gap analysis, link prospecting, website contact data, a news and blog index, PageRank history, or conventional keyword rank tracking.

Those are the reports a campaign provides context for in OppAlerts. You define the business, its brands, its competitors and three buyer personas once, and that definition selects results everywhere afterward.

  • Backlinks DB: Link Gap lists sites with observed links to the competitors you entered and no observed link to you.
  • Brand Unlinked Mentions lists pages naming your business without an observed link, which is where a link request starts.
  • Prospect Index searches stored pages by meaning as well as keyword, across opportunity types including guest contribution pages, resource lists, expert roundups, podcasts, directories and award programs.
  • Site Info returns stored public contact details and contact pages for a site.
  • News Index searches indexed news, blog and podcast content for brand and competitor coverage.
  • PageRank history gives monthly link-graph measurements for a host, so a prospect's history is visible before outreach.
  • Content Optimizer compares a draft with up to three categories you select, one per taxonomy, and lists phrases the draft does not contain. It reads up to 8,192 bytes, so long articles are checked section by section.

Otterly's AI Search Optimization and GEO audits work on pages that already exist at a URL. Content Optimizer works on text before it is published, which is a different point in the same process.

Choosing between them

Choose Otterly.AI when the requirement is prompt tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews, with the full engine list at the lowest price. It also suits buyers who need programmatic access with published request allowances now.

Choose OppAlerts when conventional Google and Bing positions belong in the same reporting as AI answers, and when the prompt report is expected to end in a list of publishers rather than a figure.

A team can reasonably run both, because the overlap is only the tracked prompt. Price that overlap on matched engines and matched frequency before deciding whether it is duplicated spending.

Compare the prompt set and providers you intend to track. Then check whether you need the additional research for the tasks that follow your report.

Let’s discuss how we can work together.

An industry report, a custom dataset, a partnership; a couple of sentences is plenty. Every message comes straight to me, and I read all of them.

If it’s a fit, you’ll hear back quickly with next steps or a time to talk.
