Pitchbox Alternatives for Outreach and Link Building

Find a Pitchbox alternative for prospect research, outreach management or both. Compare campaign capacity, contact history and the work needed before you send a pitch.

If you are evaluating a replacement for Pitchbox, you need to account for prospect research as well as the outreach your team manages. Pitchbox charges for campaigns run and prospecting searches. Pro is $300 a month, or $210 billed yearly, for 25 campaigns and 1,000 searches. The next tier is $600 for 1,000 campaigns and 5,000 searches. The top one is $1,200.

People leave when the price stops matching what they send, when what they wanted was a contact database and not a sending tool, or when it turns out the real problem was finding prospects worth emailing in the first place.

OppAlerts publishes this page and is one of the alternatives on it. It sends nothing. It replaces the research half of Pitchbox and none of the outreach.

BuzzStream, if the cost per user is the problem

BuzzStream is the closest like-for-like platform and starts far lower. $49 a month gets you one user, 500 stored contacts, 30 prospecting searches a month and 50 Discovery results per search. $174 gets 3 users, 25,000 contacts and 250 searches. $424 gets 6 users, 100,000 contacts and 1,000 searches. From $999 you get 12 or more users and 300,000 or more contacts. Extra users cost $58 and $70.

Read the meter, because it is not Pitchbox's meter. BuzzStream charges for the contacts sitting in its CRM, so a large historic database costs you money every month whether or not you email any of it. Pitchbox charges for campaigns you actually run.

Big list, low send volume: Pitchbox is usually cheaper. Small list, sending constantly: BuzzStream usually wins. Work out which one you are before switching.

BuzzStream also sells ListIQ, an AI-driven media list builder, priced separately.

Hunter fixes bounced email

Hunter is not an outreach platform and it fixes a different failure. It finds email addresses at a domain and tests whether they accept mail. The meter is credits a month: 50 free, then 2,000, 10,000 and 25,000, with verification costing half a credit. Unlimited users on every plan.

If your Pitchbox campaigns are failing on bounces and not on volume, this is your fix. It sits beside a sender. It does not replace one.

BuzzSumo has the journalists

Link outreach and press outreach are two different jobs. BuzzSumo PR & Comms at $299 a month gives you five users, five alerts, and a Media Database for finding and contacting journalists writing about your brand, your market and your competitors. Coverage Reports show publication data, engagement, mention counts and where in the article you turned up.

Pitch reporters by beat and you want a media database. Neither Pitchbox's prospecting nor OppAlerts' site contacts will stand in for one.

Ahrefs Brand Radar may already be paid for

Brand Radar advertises web mention tracking and link prospecting alongside the backlink index, so a team already on Ahrefs may have the prospecting half without buying anything. It sends no outreach, so you still need a sender.

OppAlerts, for deciding who is worth contacting

OppAlerts sends nothing. It answers the question that comes before a campaign: which placements exist, and which ones justify the effort.

  • Prospect Index, searched by meaning as well as keyword and filtered by opportunity type: guest contribution pages, resource lists, expert roundups, podcasts, industry directories, award programs and speaking submissions. Meaning search returns relevant pages that never use your phrasing.
  • Site Info, returning the contact pages, emails, phone numbers and social profiles a site publishes about itself. Published details, never tested for deliverability. That is Hunter's job.
  • PageRank history, monthly link-graph measurements for a host, its www variant and its domain, so you see which way a site is heading before you invest in the relationship.
  • Backlinks DB: Link Gap, listing sites with observed links to competitors you name and no observed link to you.
  • Brand Unlinked Mentions, listing pages that already name your business and did not link. Highest-yield list you will get, because the publisher already knows who you are.

All of it runs off one campaign definition covering the business, its brands, its competitors and three buyer personas. The same definition drives AI answer tracking, keyword tracking, coverage monitoring and content scoring.

Let’s discuss how we can work together.

An industry report, a custom dataset, a partnership; a couple of sentences is plenty. Every message comes straight to me, and I read all of them.

If it’s a fit, you’ll hear back quickly with next steps or a time to talk.
