OA9 OppAlerts
DemoThis is a read-only copy of OppAlerts, holding saved answers for one sample campaign. Nothing here is live and nothing you do is kept. Every form, setting and button that would change data is turned off, and so is every search and filter box, because the demo answers from saved files and not from a database. Move through it with the menus, the tabs and the links.

Campaigns

Every campaign in this account. Open one to configure it, or start a new one.

What you use it for

Every campaign in the account, one row each.

  • See what state each campaign is in without opening them.
  • Open one to edit it. The label is the link.
  • Find a campaign you archived, which keeps everything it collected.
  • Check how many slots you have left before promising a client a start date.

One row per campaign, with its state, its personas, its organizations and what it has collected. It reads the campaign rows and nothing else, and it starts and stops nothing.

A campaign is either active or archived. Archiving keeps everything the campaign collected and frees its slot at once, so an agency that loses a client can archive and add on the same day.

Two separate limits decide whether you can add another: how many campaigns you may have active at once, and how many you may start in any 7 days. When one stops you, the screen names which.

Active and archived

Archiving keeps everything the campaign collected and frees its slot at once. So an agency that loses a client can archive and add a new one the same day, and the old reports still open.

The two limits

Two separate rules decide whether you can add another campaign, and the screen names which one stopped you:

  • How many campaigns you may have ACTIVE at once. Archiving frees one immediately.
  • How many you may START in any 7 days. Archiving does not free one of these; only time does.

Deleting

A campaign that has collected anything cannot be deleted, only archived. Deleting is for a campaign created by mistake, before it was finalized.
The result: one row per campaign

Reading the result

  • Personas should be four, three you wrote plus the neutral one. Row 3 above has three, so one of its personas was never written, and every persona-split report on it is thinner than it should be.
  • Organizations under about five means the labelling is incomplete, and every report will show untagged domains.
  • Research says where the collection is. "Not started" is a campaign that is not finalized yet. "Waiting to start", "Queued" and "Running" are the runner working through it. "Finished" is a campaign whose reports are complete. "Stopped" names the step that failed under it.
  • Archived keeps everything and frees the slot at once.
On your own campaign

How to use it

  1. Use the campaign menu in the breadcrumb for switching. It is on every page and it is faster than coming here.
  2. Come here to compare. This is the only place that shows every campaign's state beside each other.
  3. Archive a finished client rather than deleting. You keep the history and you get the slot back.
  4. Check the count before you promise a start. The 7-day rule can stop you even when a slot is free.

A campaign per what?

  • One campaign per client is the normal case.
  • One campaign per MARKET when a client sells into two markets that do not overlap. The personas and the keywords would fight each other in one campaign.
  • Not one campaign per persona. Personas live inside a campaign, and three of them is the design.
  • A second campaign for the same market buys its searches again. Nothing is shared between campaigns.
